Amelia spent 2013 growing leaps and bounds! She is a very active child and her energy is contagious. She played both spring and fall soccer and learned that soccer is more fun when played in the mud! She also learned how to ride a bike on two wheels and has conquered our long driveway after riding loop after loop. During the summer break she spent a week at golf camp and dance camp. The girls also spent a week up at G and G's farm learning how to garden and tend to the horses. This year she turned 6 and invited her whole kindergarten class over for a garden birthday party. The weather was fantastic and the kids all played outside in a bouncy house. In May we took a trip back to Kansas to see Allison graduate from high school and visit with everyone. In the fall she entered first grade at Newcastle Elementary where Jen is volunteering as the class Art Docent. For Halloween she was Jewel, a character from the cartoon Lalaloopsy. Our amazing nanny, Ali, sewed her costume from scratch. Amelia is actively involved with Daisy Scouts and learning the piano. This month she started her second year of basketball with the Issaquah Parks. In December we took our family vacation to Hawaii where the girls learned how to play in the sand, swim in the ocean and dance the hula. We are blessed to have a beautiful, smart, and courageous young girl who never stops wondering and is the best big sister anyone could ask for!
